Emy Lucassen is an award-winning writer with an international background. A native Dutch speaker, born in the States and living in the UK, she has a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and a PhD in Cancer Research from Berne. She started her gradual move away from pure science when she became interested in the ethics of genetic engineering, and has played an active role in shaping policy through her writing on medical ethics issues. Her varied career has included several years in PR and communications at AstraZeneca. In her spare time, she has written a critically acclaimed novel and several short stories.
